What is Direct Animation?
Direct animation is an animation technique that shortens animator’s workload to less than one percent of what it was before! Animators are working less and producing better results. This is the Direct Animations Workflow:
1. Craft Director Studio work best when you can steer the camera or object being animated with precision. Normally, animators use joysticks or gamepads but traditional key-framing can be used with most tools as well if that is preferred.
2. Slow-motion steering: you will always have better control and better precision with Craft Director Studio then you would have otherwise, but for the best results it is often wise to work in slow-motion.
3. Undo by re-recording: when your first try doesn’t turn out exactly as you had hoped you just back up the recording and try again from that position. Craft Director Studio allows you to restart the animation at any point, but as apposed to traditional motion-capture systems, the motion will be perfectly seamless. With Craft Director Studio you have time to make three or even four attempts at every shot – the end result will be perfect.
4. Motions hierarchies and parallel simulation: Craft Animations different camera tools can be bound to each other accomplishing camera movement that you have never dreamed of. What is more, you can animate multiple objects simultaneously by using more than one input device.
5. Re-simulation to tweak the dynamics: Craft Director Studio will help you to fine tune smaller animation sequences that were ‘almost perfect’. Now you will save even more time!
